This time the beautiful Dutch Embassy in Paris –where the movie ‘Intouchables' was filmed– was the backdrop for the scintillating fashion show of the Dutch designers duo Viktor & Rolf who presented their spring and summer collection 2015.
Sports bike shorts, many volumes created by elastic and colorful airy floral patterns, gave a nice contrast with the stately building. What is striking is that normally elastic is used in fashion to accentuate a taille, while elastic in the fashion of V&R is used to create volumes.
In recent years, their ready-to-wear shows were held in a large tent on Jardin des Tuileries, which was designed for more than three times as many people. This time was opted for a more intimate setting. The eighties sounds “Let's Get Physical” by Olivia Newton-John gave with the interplay with the trimmings and fashion items, a special atmosphere to the show. Maybe it's the fact that there were fewer seats and the show was so exclusive, that the atmosphere of the show was so special.
Viktor & Rolf chose designs with a romantic sporty look this time. Nowadays activewear is combined a lot more frequently with fashion items. These comfortable clothes are worn loosely around the body and are considered to be less formal.
This is a trend that we believe will continue for much longer.
Viktor & Rolf gave, in their own (well known) way, a twist to this trend.
After the show, the designers received the press and special guests in the beautiful garden of the ambassador's residence. Would you like to know which celebs were watching this show?
Check it out on the soon to be published special report with pictures of before and after the show, completed with trendy street style.
