The reason why I entered the Marie-Stella-Maris | Archives Store in Amsterdam might be different then you would think. The shop located in the heart of the inspiring ‘Nine Streets', (9 straatjes) opened just a couple of days ago.
It were the cinema like letter boards that caught my eye.
Inspired by Broadway Light
A few days earlier I walked by the same shop and my attention was, unconciously, drawn to this awesome kind of sixties–look lettering.
I didn't take a photo of it by then.
Seeing this for the second time I didn't want to have regrets by not taking a picture of it.
So that's why I entered the shop: for making some pictures of the letter boards.
The letter boards seemed to be inspired by William Klein's ‘Broadway by Light' work of art.
Drink water and give water
A friendly employee asked me: “Do you know our water?”
So it was about water over there!
The bottle seemed familiar to me.
I previously saw them on the tables in The Dylan restaurant and it looked like the bottle of water I drank during my delicious lunch in restaurant George the hour before.
But I wasn't familiar with the story behind the brand.
The employee explained.
In 2010 the United Nations declared access to clean drinking water and sanitation, as a basic human right (Resolution 64/292).
This resolution has inspired Marie Stella Maris in 2011 to develop the brand.
Just because they care.
The brand strongly believes in the idea of taking care of one another and spreading creativity, personality and style, to realise their social objectives.
What a beautiful idea: Drink water and give water!
‘Water for Kameke‘ in Uganda is their latest project thanks to the water drinkers of the brand.
Water and care products
Marie-Stella-Maris offers natural mineral water available in both PET and glass. Both sparkling and non-sparkling.
Marie-Stella-Maris is not only selling water.
They also offer care products, which consist of botanical organic ingredients like coconut oil, geranium, lavender, sweet almond oil and lemon grass.
The brand donates a fixed amount of money for each product they sell to support clean drinking water projects worldwide. See the contribution overview below.
You Smell Marie
Guess what? Naturally the nice story inspired me to buy the No. 92 Room spray Objects d'Amsterdam with a stylish atomizer sprayer on top.
In our family we call this a “vaporisateur”.
So the Trendbubbles's office is now filled with this aromatic white tea scented smelling roomspray.
Another advantage of these care products is that they are free from lauryl sulphate, glycols, petro chemicals, artificial frangance, animal derivates, silicones and parabens.
Downstairs in the shop there is a little café where one can enjoy a cup of coffee in the early morning or whenever visiting the shop.
The shop is located on the corner of the Keizersgracht and the Huidenstraat, Amsterdam.
