The biannual festival “Breda Photo” has erupted with pictures screaming romance, with this year's theme being “Songs from the Heart”.
Because we live in Breda, this is obviously a “home match” and we went and took a look right away because as photography enthusiasts, this was a must see for us.
We made a photo report on Chassé XXL, the outdoor exhibition that can be seen day and night.
It is notable that this year more Japanese photographers participate in the festival.
Maybe it's the theme or it’s because Japanese artists are more inspired at the time than Western artists.
Who knows may say.
So, this is life
The opinion of a bypasser walking her dachshund, and being a member of a photography club herself: “Best Breda Photo ever, I mean most appealing, it is so recognizable because life is as in the pictures, isn’t it? ”
The views of the photographers seem to be more focused on the future, and the appearance of the photos seems more positive than other years.
As Trendwatchers, we immediately noticed the festival trend being caught in the pictures.
There are beautiful pictures of the Burning Man festival in Nevada (An-Sofie Kesteleyn), and we liked the special series of photos about a double decker bus, which travels along festivals with friends, by photographer Tom Hunter.
The theme of ‘space', in the city of the future (Ideal city of Stéphanie Roland), rang a bell for us, because we see the “Space” popping up in fashion trends as well.
We saw pictures of rooms or locations that almost seem from another planet.
What do we expect from the future, and what does our ideal city look like?
The Japanese photographer Hal, made pictures that are colorful and fierce.
The packaged couples in evacuated plastic, reminded us of Barbies lying neatly in their box on the toy store shelf, waiting for the kids to open their package and allow fresh air to flow in.
The photos also raise questions about “how did they create this?” or “was making the pictures hectic for the models, because of the lack of air, created by the vacuum?”
